Yet another adventure for us! This time we headed for KL. Mun, piggy, yogi and me formed the Kuala Lumpur Syndicate.
Due to the sudden decision, we were left realizing that most of the hotels have been fully booked. We had to search for one when we get there.
We arrived in the wee hrs of the morning. This taxi driver approached us and we told him where we wanted to go (The hotel which yogi aunty recommended). He said $15, not knowing where the place was, we took up the offer. We jus got cheated. It was like 5 mins drive and we reached already. !@#$ %^&*() _+|! We went around hunting for a nice yet cheap hotel to reside for the few days. We walked and walked searching high and low. The more we moved the more demoralized we got. Every time we entered a hotel, it’s either full or above our budget. So on that cold dreading hr; we had to sleep by the bus stop.
Sighs. Pathetic isn’t it. Not! We are not KLS for nothing, mighty and street smart we are, we found a suitable hotel at Jalan Ipoh. Bestotel!
We could only check in at 9am, so we slept at the lobby for awhile. After which we went for breakfast at some shop 300m away. All the plates and stuff are so small; on the contrary the pao is so so big!!! But the food is jus average.
We went back to relax for a while den headed to get our return ticket to ensure we could go home on time. Now that things r settled, its shopping eating time! We took out our handy dandy map and started to plan our adventure.
1st destination: Time Square! The place is quite a nice place to window shop. There’s an indoor amusement park inside too! We spent almost the whole day there!
We had tea at Starbucks !
Next we went over to another shopping center. It was like a bit like Far East shopping center. There was nth much to see. It dinner time!! Woohoo. We are going to meet munie hoe’s cuz and her friend. We requested them to take us to some seafood restaurant so we could have a scrumptious dinner!!
We took the monorail to KL Sentral where we waited for his cuz.
Then we took the train to KLCC. The shopping centre there is like Paragon. And so they brought us to eat seafood but not exactly what we had in mind. We ate at Manhattan Fish Market. After dinner we took some photos outside with the Petronas twin tower.
Feeling a bit exhausted from all the walking we decided to head back to chill and relax. We flagged for a cab. As you all may know, most of the time at night we have to negotiate a fare for the taxi ride instead of meter. But if you do come across one which runs with meter do take that cab, its much cheaper. Yea so the 1st cab came to us. 20 bucks? Nah, too expensive. The taxi driver still can argue back, saying all the taxi will charge $20. We walked away and he came out of his taxi to come and further negotiate with us. We walk further down and another cab came. $15 this time, we rejected. He too came out of his taxi and offered $14. This time the 2 taxi drivers walked to each other as if they wanted to fight. Haa. We ignored them and walk down. In Malaysia you do not need to be afraid there’s no cab around. There are tones of them hunting us down. And so a 3rd cab came and offered $10 bucks and we were on our way back =). All cabs will charge $20 my ass! We went back cleaned up, had some doughnuts for supper. We were all quite tired, so we knocked out soon after.
Next day we woke up around noon. Piggy had such a bad night. She could not sleep well because we joined 3 beds together and 4 persons sharing. She happened to sleep on the gap and she got squashed by yogi and munie hoe. Heh. Well, we headed down to a Chinese restaurant to have lunch. Yum! Ordered Shark fins soup, half a duck, some veg. The food was not too bad. More shopping! Shop and shop and shop.
Headed back to KLCC again. While walking to KLCC we took some pics jus for the fun of it.
This time we went there for A&W dinner! WooHoo! The root beer float is simply heavenly. Keke. We explored the whole place and next stop: Zouk! We walked around, trying to follow the directions the taxi driver told us the night before. Bingo mighty KLS found it! Well jus for your info, zouk opens from Thurs to Sat while velvet underground opens from Tues to Sat. Ladies night for zouk is on Thursday. The prices are dif for dif days. Sometimes it’s free or $25 or $30 or $35.
We went back after that. Next morning we packed our stuff and headed back to home sweet home!
